Floyd Mayweather was the reigning pound for pound king until an unknown fighter from General Santos, Philippines Manny Pacquiao proved to the world that he can also be the pound for pound king. I was a huge Mayweather fan for quite sometime until this spitfire from the Philippines caught my attention. Floyd became inactive and at some point retired from the boxing world while Manny Pacquiao worked his best to be on top of the ladder. Floyd faded...Manny flourished.
What made it worse was Floyd Mayweather's avoidance to fight Manny. From the accusations of Manny taking steroids and up to his troubles with the law, Floyd has proven to me that he is a total coward. A dog who hides his tail in between his chicken legs. His tactics really annoyed his boxing fans and frustrated the whole boxing world about his ducking technique to fight his pound for pound counterpart. Lots of issues came out in the news which also involved his father's slanderous act against Manny Pacquiao. At one point Manny was about to press charges against Floyd Senior but he eventually dropped the case. All Floyd Mayweather, Jr.'s camp was doing was to blabber their big mouth about steroid accusations and racial comments about Manny. In return MAnny's fans around the world became irate and began to fight back against these family of cowards.
The strong influence of great boxing skills and the initial reputation Floyd Mayweather built early in his career slowly crumbled down. His sport ethics and dirty tactics surely backfired on him. If what he's waiting for is for MAnny to slow down and age, he will end up waiting for nothing. And even if that time comes, Manny Pacquiao will still proved to be the victor. The destruction of Floyd Mayweather's legacy has happened. Manny Pacquiao will eventually retire soon and will preserve his hard earned status of being the number one pound for pound king in the world-a title swept away from chicken Floyd because of Floyd's idiotic and sociopath's tactic of outsmarting Manny and the boxing fans around the world. Boxing legacy is not about being undefeated, it requires ethics and perseverance to show the world that you don't choose and pick who and when you want to fight. A true fighter fights anyone, whether your opponent is faster or bigger than you. I wish Floyd Mayweather, Jr. follow the footsteps of the great boxers like Sugar Ray Robinson, Floyd Patterson, Muhammad Ali and so on. Unfortunately, his immaturity, character, and bad mentors created a hindrance in his career to be considered one of the greatest boxers in history. He will be known as "the great coward", or "the great Chicken KFC boxer of all time"...this is the destruction of Floyd Mayweather's legacy.
