CAN MANNY PACQUIAO BREAKDOWN JOSHUA CLOTTEY'S DEFENSE?

The fight will be on March 13, 2010 in Texas. So far 40,000 seats has already been sold to see this boxing event between the Filipino punching machine Manny Pacquiao and the defensive fighter and durable Joshua Clottey.

When Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao 50-3-2 (38 KO’s) meets Joshua “The Grand Master” Clottey 35-3 (20 KO’s) at Cowboys Stadium in Texas on Saturday night, this great match up will come down to one question, Can Manny Pacquiao Break Down Clottey’s Defense? If Manny Pacquiao breaks down Joshua Clottey’s defense, then for sure Manny will dominate him and win the fight. If he doesn’t he may suffer his defeat and make a boxing upset come March 13.
Some would argue that size will present the greatest determining factor. I don’t think so. When Manny Pacquiao 5’ 6” fought the “Golden Boy” Oscar de La hoya 5’ 10” ½, height didn’t really matter. Clottey’s height advantage is not a determining factor in winning this fight.

The question is can Joshua Clottey take Manny’s body punches? I’m quite sure that Manny will attack Joshua’s body to have him drop his two hands-up defense. Another issue is Joshua’s jabs. If Joshua can’t keep Manny at bay using his jabs, then his two hands-up defenses won’t work. Manny will break him down using strong body punches.

With Manny Pacquiao’s speed and agility, and his ability to break down his opponents defense just like what he did with his previous fights, then Joshua Clottey will be in a lot of trouble. No question that Mr. Pacman can go through the grand master’s defense.
